News VALDO BUYS A SHARE IN THE FRIULIAN WINERY I MAGREDI Valdobbiadene, January 2018 - The search for kinship, common values and a similar history also applies to brands, especially those that are the expression and fruit of the work of families that have been passing on their passion for wine for generations. The meeting between the two wineries Valdo and I Magredi, both owned by the founding family, with a strong link to the region, has led them to celebrate an important agreement. Valdo, a producer of Prosecco and Spumanti for over ninety years and leader of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG, based in Valdobbiadene in the heart of the denomination, has bought a stake in I Magredi, a winery in Friuli Venezia Giulia that produces wines with the Denominazione di Origine Controllata ""Friuli Grave"" in and around Domanins in the province of Pordenone. The aim of this acquisition is to increase the production of Prosecco in the Friuli region by expanding the winery's winemaking and storage facilities, and to contribute to the commercial development of the I Magredi brand in Italy and around the world. Valdo, owned by the Bolla family, and I Magredi, owned by the Tombacco family, have many things in common: both have a strong link with the region, a wealth of experience, passion for the vineyard combined with innovation and great intuition, all driven by a continuous search for excellence in quality. After 90 years of success in Italy and around the world, the Valdo brand continues to demonstrate great vitality and an ability to live in the contemporary world with new sparkling wines designed for every drinking moment, from Valdo 10 Prosecco DOCG Metodo Classico and Cuvée del Fondatore, Prosecco di Valdobbiadene barricato, from Prosecco Bio to Rosè Floral, enhanced by the artistic interpretation of illustrator Fabrizio Sclavi. In 1968, in the fertile lands of Friuli with its lunar fascination, the company I Magredi was born. Initially it had a focus on arable farming and fruit growing, but with the second generation it concentrated on viticulture and oenology, modernising the company. Thanks to careful checks throughout the entire supply chain, starting with the highest quality grapes, I Magredi offers wines of excellence, with careful and innovative work in the vineyard always focusing on sustainability. An important feature of the company is the circular vineyard, whose rows are arranged in a sunburst pattern. The circle symbol for the vineyard was designed by Michelangelo Tombacco as an expression of harmony, of perfection, to evoke the circle of life. In addition to the vines on the plains, the company has now moved into the hills where it currently manages the Cà Ronesca farm, about 55 hectares of vineyards in Dolegna del Collio. Both brands, Valdo and I Magredi, boast state-of-the-art winemaking techniques and facilities that allow them to obtain fine wines, respecting the typical nature of the region, which have enabled them to establish themselves at a national and international level. This partnership will undoubtedly give new impetus to both companies, leading them to ever higher levels and new great successes.
